At the Cameroonian National Assembly, Secretary-General André Noël Essian formally installed 22 high-ranking officials nominated by President Théodore Datouo.
Following the opening of the second ordinary session of the 2026 legislative year, Secretary-General André Noël Essian presided over the swearing-in ceremony for over 20 senior officials appointed by President Théodore Datouo.
These top executives were promoted to roles within the Assembly’s finance and general secretariat departments. After the ceremony, they officially assumed their duties in the national representation.
Since his election in March as President of the National Assembly, Deputy Théodore Datouo has made numerous appointments. However, these decisions have not been universally welcomed. Critics point out that Datouo, who succeeded Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, failed to maintain regional balance in his selections.
