The Gabonese government has officially welcomed its newest leader at the helm of the Rail Transport Regulatory Authority (ARTF). Ludovic Megne Ndong assumed his duties during a handover ceremony held in Owendo, marking the transition from his predecessor, François Banga Eboumi.
In his inaugural address, the newly appointed president outlined his priorities for the institution, emphasizing strict adherence to the freshly issued ordinance that reshapes ARTF’s operational framework. His leadership vision centers on fostering collaboration with both social partners and internal teams to elevate institutional efficiency and enhance workplace conditions.
The roadmap he presented includes key initiatives such as restructuring field inspection teams and reviving oversight operations along the Transgabonais railway corridor, spanning from Owendo to Franceville. These measures aim to reinforce safety standards and operational reliability across the network.
The ceremony drew participation from government officials, including the Minister of Reform and Institutional Relations, François Ndong Obiang, and ARTF’s Executive Secretary, Adrien Moukabi. The leadership transition coincides with ongoing sector-wide reforms designed to modernize Gabon’s rail infrastructure and governance.
