Morocco and Colombia strengthen un peacebuilding ties

The Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Colombia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation between the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission and the Security Council, placing peace at the forefront of global priorities.

In a gesture of diplomatic courtesy, the Permanent Representative of Morocco to the United Nations, Omar Hilale, who currently serves as Chair of the UN Peacebuilding Commission, welcomed Leonor Zalabata Torres, Colombia’s Ambassador to the UN and President of the UN Security Council for June 2026.

The meeting, held in New York, underscored the shared vision of both nations to bolster multilateral efforts in conflict prevention, mediation, and sustainable peacebuilding initiatives.
