New details have come to light regarding the terrorist strike that targeted a military base at the Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Following several hours of sweep operations, the Nigerien military confirmed the final assessment of the situation late that evening.
The JNIM (Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims), a group affiliated with Al-Qaeda, has claimed responsibility for the raid.
