Niger military academy honors top achievers in Niamey
Niamey, June 4, 2026 — The Prytanée Militaire de Niamey (PMN) recently recognized its highest-achieving students during a prestigious awards ceremony concluding the 2025-2026 academic year. Under the distinguished patronage of Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Salaou Barmou, the event celebrated academic excellence among the school’s young cadets.
The ceremony honored students who topped their respective classes from sixth grade through twelfth grade. Through this initiative, school leaders emphasized the importance of merit, dedication, and discipline—core values embedded in the PMN’s educational philosophy.
A wide array of dignitaries attended the ceremony, including members of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), the Vice-President of the Consultative Council for Refoundation (CCR), accredited diplomatic and consular representatives, the Governor of the Niamey region, senior officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and proud parents of the award-winning cadets.
Outstanding academic achievements highlighted
The recognition of this year’s top performers underscores the rigorous academic standards upheld at the Prytanée Militaire de Niamey. Exceptional grades reflected the students’ commitment and the institution’s unwavering dedication to academic rigor.
In the junior division, the highest average reached 18.55 out of 20, while in the senior division, the top student achieved a score of 17.44 out of 20. These results not only highlight the learners’ hard work but also the quality of instruction and mentorship provided by teachers and administrators.
