Sénégal: le président Diomaye Faye présente son nouveau parti, «Kiiraay: les patriotes républicains»

From Dakar, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye officially introduced his new political party, «Kiiraay: les patriotes républicains», on a recent Saturday afternoon. This fresh movement is dedicated to rekindling hope across all segments of the Senegalese population, built upon a core mission to protect the Republic of Senegal, its vital institutions, and the rich ancestral values passed down to new generations. The President emphasized the critical importance of placing national unity above all political divisions and personal ambitions, declaring, “We may be adversaries one day, but we remain brothers every day.”

During the launch event at the King Fahd Palace, Bassirou Diomaye Faye embodied the role of a dynamic political leader, greeted by an overwhelming assembly of enthusiastic militants and dedicated sympathizers. The sheer volume of attendees surpassed the capacity of the main hall, leading many to gather under an overflow tent erected on the hotel’s forecourt to witness the pivotal address by the head of the “Diomaye Président” coalition.

The President also took this opportunity to deliver subtle criticisms aimed at political adversaries, though he refrained from naming them directly. He asserted that “from this point forward, no warmonger will be able to disturb the peace of the Senegalese people or their commitment to serving the Republic.” According to many party members present, these remarks were interpreted as a clear message directed towards his former partner and the current President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko.
