The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Professional Training convened a critical national workshop in N’Djamena on July 10, 2026, to validate a groundbreaking situational analysis report. This report is the foundation for Chad’s upcoming National Strategy for Digital Transformation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The initiative aligns with the Pan-African Initiative for Digital Transformation of TVET Systems, supported by key partners such as UNESCO, the African Union, and the African Development Bank. The goal? To modernize Chad’s technical and vocational education sustainably, ensuring it meets the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.

The pre-strategy study engaged over 200 participants from 57 Technical and Vocational Training Centers (TVTCs) across Chad. Through extensive field missions and digital data collection, the assessment covered every educational region in the country, identifying both strengths and gaps in the current system.

Key priorities for digital education transformation

The workshop brought together sector leaders to review, refine, and approve the report, which highlights critical areas for improvement:

• Digital infrastructure: Strengthening connectivity and energy supply to support modern learning environments.
• Teacher training: Equipping educators with digital competencies to deliver cutting-edge instruction.
• Curriculum integration: Embedding digital skills into TVET programs to prepare students for future careers.
• Governance: Establishing clear policies to guide the digital transition effectively.

Dr. Djininboh Gabriel, Director General of Human Resources, Statistics, and Digitalization, opened the session on behalf of the Secretary of State for Higher Education. He emphasized that digital transformation is no longer optional but a strategic necessity for aligning Chad’s TVET system with technological advancements and emerging job roles.

The validated report will serve as the blueprint for Chad’s 2026-2030 National Digital TVET Strategy and its operational action plan. The ultimate vision? A modern, high-performing TVET system that equips students with the skills employers demand.
