Côte d’Ivoire Reaches Record Mobilization of Over $47 Billion in Funding for Development
President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction with the record mobilization of over $47 billion in funding for development, which he said demonstrates the confidence of the international community in Côte d’Ivoire’s solid foundation and credible strategy.
The announcement was made after the conclusion of a consultation group on the 2026-2030 development plan, attended by over 2,000 investors from 49 countries in Abidjan.
The meeting brought together representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business organizations, state-owned and private enterprises, as well as international development partners.
According to the President, the total commitment made during the two-day meeting stands at $80 billion, exceeding the initial target of $11.1 billion by four times.
The 2026-2030 development plan aims to build a stable, ambitious, and solidary nation, with a global investment volume of over $209 billion over five years.
President Ouattara emphasized that private sector investment will account for 70.2% of this total, driving the country’s economic transformation and social development.
The plan prioritizes six areas: peace, security, and stability; agriculture and agro-industry; private sector development and industrialization; human capital; strategic infrastructure; good governance; and state modernization.
On a macroeconomic level, the targets are ambitious, requiring the mobilization of the entire nation to achieve an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, with a GDP per capita of $4,500 and a poverty rate below 20%.
The President pledged to transform this confidence into tangible achievements for every Ivoirian, through investments in schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, opportunities, and shared prosperity.
‘Together, with confidence, determination, and unity, we will continue to build a Côte d’Ivoire that is more prosperous and solidary,’ he concluded.
