Côte d’Ivoire’s economic growth plan gathers 700+ investors in Abidjan summit
Abidjan, 09 July 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, dedicated to investors, kicked off in Abidjan today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé presided over the opening session, emphasizing the event’s pivotal role in fostering private investment to drive Côte d’Ivoire’s ambitious growth agenda.
Investors rally behind Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the gathering, noting the participation of over 700 investors from friendly nations. « This marks a critical milestone in our journey to mobilize private capital for national development. Your presence here underscores the confidence you place in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and growth trajectory, » he remarked to the audience of business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives.
Strengthening partnerships for economic transformation
Robert Beugré Mambé stressed that the government is prioritizing the private sector as the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors of the country’s robust economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years despite global uncertainties. « Côte d’Ivoire stands among Africa’s most dynamic economies, and this momentum positions our market as a prime opportunity for investment, » he stated.
The Prime Minister outlined key sectors earmarked for accelerated investment under the PND 2026-2030, including:
- Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value addition;
- Development of strategic infrastructure, particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics;
- Human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.
Global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s future
Earlier in the week, the first day of the Consultative Group—focused on institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy—attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including local stakeholders. The second day’s focus on investors has further solidified international interest, with key figures from prominent business confederations and financial institutions reaffirming their commitment to the PND 2026-2030.
Speaking on behalf of investors, Ahmed Cissé of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s Confédération générale des Entreprises (CGEM), and representatives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) expressed their readiness to contribute through substantial financial commitments, aligning with the government’s vision for sustainable development.
