Ivorian investors rally at national development plan forum
Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, exclusively focused on investors, was officially launched today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this gathering, stating, “This marks another milestone in our collective journey to unlock private investment, drive entrepreneurship, and generate sustainable value. We are thrilled to welcome over 700 investors from friendly nations who have joined us for this pivotal event.”
The Prime Minister addressed a room filled with business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives who traveled to Abidjan to participate in this high-profile dialogue. He emphasized the role of this forum as a platform for fostering collaboration and aligning a shared vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future.
Investors play a crucial role in shaping Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory, Robert Beugré Mambé remarked. “Your commitment to our shared goals underscores the confidence you place in our nation’s economic potential and growth prospects. You are indispensable partners in transforming Côte d’Ivoire into a more competitive and job-creating economy. The success of this vision hinges on your willingness to invest in our future.”
The Prime Minister outlined the government’s strategy to position the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He reassured investors of the country’s economic resilience, citing its ability to adapt to global shifts while maintaining an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—a testament to its status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.
“This is an economy on the rise,” he declared. “Today’s discussions will accelerate investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost value addition, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—to enhance competitiveness, as well as investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services that will propel a more productive and inclusive economy.”
Robert Beugré Mambé noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.
In a show of strong support, leaders from the private sector echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Morocco (CGEM), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s leadership and expressed readiness to contribute significant financial commitments toward the realization of the PND 2026-2030.
