Côte d’Ivoire’s economic vision draws 700 investors to Abidjan summit

Abidjan, July 9, 2026 – The second day of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, exclusively focused on investors, kicked off today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan under the leadership of Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé.

Private sector engagement key to Côte d’Ivoire’s growth ambitions

The Prime Minister opened the session by highlighting the event’s core mission: mobilizing private investment to fuel the country’s development vision. Over 700 international investors from friendly nations gathered in Abidjan to participate in this crucial dialogue.

A platform for collaboration and shared ambition

Addressing a room filled with business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, Robert Beugré Mambé emphasized the significance of this gathering as a bridge between public policy and private enterprise. He stressed that the meeting is not just about discussion but about forging a unified vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future.

The Prime Minister commended the investors for their confidence in the Ivorian economy, calling them « vital partners » in transforming Côte d’Ivoire into a more competitive and job-creating economy. « Your engagement reflects your trust in our economic potential and growth prospects. This partnership is essential to turning our ambitions into reality, » he stated.

Private sector to drive Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation

Robert Beugré Mambé made it clear: Côte d’Ivoire’s government is placing the private sector at the heart of its economic strategy. With an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years, the country has proven its resilience amid global economic shifts, positioning itself as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.

« Today, you are presented with a rapidly expanding market brimming with opportunities, » he told the investors. « The discussions and agreements forged today will accelerate investments in priority sectors outlined in the NDP 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to boost added value, and the development of strategic infrastructure such as transport, digital technology, and logistics. »

He also underscored investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services as critical pillars for building a more productive and inclusive economy.

Institutional partners join forces with private investors

The first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, saw participation from over 3,000 delegates from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire.

Leading investors echoed the Prime Minister’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), all reaffirmed their confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to support the implementation of the NDP 2026-2030, reinforcing the partnership between public and private stakeholders.
