Ivorian prime minister opens investor-focused session of national development plan 2026-2030
Abidjan, July 9, 2026 — The second day of the Consultative Group for the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, dedicated exclusively to investors, was officially launched today at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. The event was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private investment in shaping Côte d’Ivoire’s economic future.
During his address to over 700 international investors from allied nations, the Prime Minister highlighted the transformative potential of private sector engagement in accelerating Côte d’Ivoire’s development agenda. « This gathering represents a pivotal moment in our partnership with the private sector,» he stated. « Your participation underscores the confidence you place in our nation’s economic trajectory and its growth potential.»
The Prime Minister stressed that this forum serves as a vital platform for dialogue between government officials and private sector leaders, fostering a shared vision for sustainable development. He noted that the government’s strategic priority is to position the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation.
Highlighting the country’s economic resilience, Prime Minister Mambé pointed to Côte d’Ivoire’s impressive track record, with an average annual growth rate of 6.5% over recent years. This performance, he argued, solidifies its standing as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, even amid global volatility.
« Today, you are presented with a rapidly expanding market brimming with opportunity,» he told the assembled investors. « This session will unlock critical investments in key sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local raw material processing to enhance value addition, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—and human capital investment.»
The Prime Minister also underscored the importance of innovation and service sector growth in building a more productive and inclusive economy. He recalled that the first day of the Consultative Group, focused on institutional partners, had already attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including Côte d’Ivoire itself.
In a show of strong support, leaders from leading business organizations took the floor to reaffirm their commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), alongside Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and representatives from France’s MEDEF and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to the PND 2026-2030. Their declarations reflected a collective readiness to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth trajectory.
