The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) have reported neutralizing over a hundred armed combatants in coordinated military operations across northern regions this week. The strikes, conducted in partnership with allied forces, targeted militant factions in Anfif and Tabrachat districts, resulting in significant losses for the insurgents.

Targeted factions and operational details

In an official statement, military authorities confirmed the operations were directed against members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azavad Liberation Front (FLA). Thirteen precision airstrikes were executed, destroying six armored vehicles and a pickup truck used for logistics and mobility by the militants.

Tuesday’s operations mark the latest phase of Mali’s ongoing military campaign against armed groups operating across multiple regions. Military leadership emphasized the disciplined and resolute nature of these actions, vowing to continue such efforts in close collaboration with international partners to dismantle militant networks and restore stability.

Russian Africa Corps claims key role in strikes

The Russian Africa Corps, an auxiliary security unit supporting Malian forces, released a separate statement highlighting its contributions to the operation. According to their report, numerous militant vehicles were destroyed in the raids, while a specialized drone successfully struck another vehicle transporting weapons and military equipment. These actions were described as part of a series of “successful joint operations” aimed at degrading the operational capacity of armed groups in the Sahel.

The Corps reiterated its commitment to persist in targeting militant positions and logistical assets, reinforcing Mali’s broader security strategy.
