Morocco bolsters defense with cutting-edge Turkish drones

The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces have recently expanded their aerial capabilities by deploying advanced Turkish-made drones, as confirmed by high-resolution satellite imagery. The newly acquired Bayraktar Akıncı models, manufactured by Baykar, have been integrated into operations at the Ben Guerir Air Base, situated south of Rabat.

Defense analysts note that these state-of-the-art unmanned systems were officially commissioned in early 2023, complementing the existing fleet of Bayraktar TB2 drones already stationed at the base. The addition underscores Morocco’s strategic focus on modernizing its defense infrastructure with reliable, high-performance aerial assets.
