World Vision Tchad Unveils Bold 2030 Strategy for Children’s Futures

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has officially launched its 2026-2030 national strategy, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to transform the lives of children across the country. The ambitious roadmap aims to impact 3.29 million children by 2030, with a special focus on reaching 3.09 million of the most vulnerable young lives through enhanced interventions in critical sectors such as health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

The launch event, held at a N’Djamena hotel, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities to witness the unveiling of this transformative initiative. In her keynote address, Carla Dominique Denizard, Regional Director for World Vision West Africa based in Dakar, described the strategy as “bold and innovative,” emphasizing its foundation on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus approach. This integrated framework seeks to bridge emergency responses with sustainable development initiatives and peacebuilding efforts, ensuring no child is left behind in Chad’s journey toward progress.

Denizard highlighted that World Vision’s vision for West and Central Africa is to empower every child in fragile contexts not just to survive, but to thrive. She underscored the region’s persistent challenges, including insecurity, multidimensional poverty, climate change impacts, and mass population displacements. “The children of Chad deserve nothing less than a life of abundance,” she stated, emphasizing the need for strong partnerships, community engagement, and the integration of cultural and spiritual realities into development efforts.

The strategy aligns with key continental and global frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Chad’s Vision 2030. Key priorities include strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection, adapting to climate change, improving literacy through the Unlock Literacy program, and safeguarding children’s rights.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, hailed the launch as a “historic moment” for the organization and the future of Chad’s children. He revealed that the new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to the previous cycle, with a clear goal: “We want every child in Chad not just to survive, but to flourish.”

Ngoy Wangoy also painted a stark picture of Chad’s challenges, noting persistent poverty, malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and climate change impacts. With nearly 42% of the population living below the poverty line, he stressed the urgent need for intensified action to support the most vulnerable. The strategy’s core pillars include integrated nutrition and health programs with a focus on maternal and child health, literacy initiatives to build foundational reading skills, robust child protection measures, and community resilience-building against climate-related shocks.

Concluding the event, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a call to action, urging national stakeholders—government authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media—to join forces in supporting the strategy’s implementation. They emphasized that collective mobilization is essential to turning current challenges into sustainable opportunities for Chad’s children. Through this 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision Tchad aims to contribute meaningfully to the country’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, fostering a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
