World Vision Tchad’s bold 2030 roadmap to transform child futures

N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking five-year strategy (2026-2030) designed to revolutionize the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The comprehensive plan integrates humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding initiatives to create lasting change for vulnerable youth.

Strategic pillars for a brighter future

The newly launched framework emphasizes five critical intervention areas to uplift Tchadian children by 2030:

• Health and nutrition: Focused on maternal and child health, tackling malnutrition, and building resilient healthcare systems
• Quality education: Expanding literacy programs through the Unlock Literacy initiative to ensure foundational learning
• Child protection: Implementing comprehensive measures to shield children from violence and exploitation
• Climate resilience: Empowering communities to adapt to environmental changes and natural disasters
• Peace and social cohesion: Promoting stability through inclusive dialogue and community engagement

The organization’s regional director for West Africa, Carla Dominique Denizard, described the strategy as “a transformative leap forward” that bridges emergency response with long-term development. “Every child in Chad deserves not just survival, but the chance to thrive,” she emphasized during the launch event in N’Djamena.

Unprecedented scale of impact

National director Édouard Ngoy Wangoy revealed that this strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles. “Our mission is clear: reach 3.09 million of the most vulnerable children by 2030,” he stated. “We’re not just setting targets—we’re building pathways to opportunity.”

The plan aligns with Chad’s Vision 2030 and global development goals, including key Sustainable Development Objectives (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). However, significant challenges remain. With 42% of Chad’s population living below the poverty line, compounded by climate shocks and recurrent humanitarian crises, the need for collaborative action has never been more urgent.

A call for collective action

World Vision Tchad is rallying all stakeholders—government agencies, development partners, civil society, religious leaders, and media—to join forces. “This is a shared responsibility,” noted Wangoy. “Together, we can turn current challenges into sustainable progress for every child in Chad.”

The strategy’s success hinges on integrating cultural and spiritual strengths into development efforts while fostering community ownership. By 2030, World Vision aims to create a nation where children are protected, well-nourished, educated, and empowered to reach their full potential.
