Côte d’Ivoire aims for economic leap with 2026 development plan
Côte d’Ivoire rallies global investors to drive 2026-2030 development plan
Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé gathered over 700 global investors in Abidjan to accelerate Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation under the 2026-2030 National Development Plan.
Abidjan’s Sofitel Ivoire played host to a landmark gathering on July 9, 2026, as Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé inaugurated the second phase of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 advisory group. The event brought together more than 700 investors from friendly nations to strengthen Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory.
« Today marks a pivotal step in our consultation process focused on investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation, » declared the Prime Minister. « We celebrate the arrival of over 700 investors whose participation underscores the global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s growth prospects. »
The gathering drew prominent business leaders, private sector delegates, and international investors who traveled to Abidjan to engage in strategic discussions. In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the forum’s dual role: fostering dialogue with the private sector and aligning shared developmental visions.
« Your commitment to Côte d’Ivoire reflects the trust you place in our nation’s economic potential and growth trajectory, » he told the audience. « You are key partners in realizing our ambition to build a more competitive economy that generates sustainable employment. »
The government has designated the private sector as the engine of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. The Prime Minister highlighted the country’s proven economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years and positioning Côte d’Ivoire among Africa’s most dynamic economies.
« This is a market on the rise, offering vast opportunities, » he noted. « Today’s discussions will further accelerate investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization, local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, infrastructure development—particularly in transport, digital technology, and logistics—and human capital investment. These efforts will bolster competitiveness and attractiveness while fostering innovation and inclusive growth. »
He also pointed to the success of the first day, which focused on institutional partners and presented Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy to over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including the host nation.
In response, prominent voices from the private sector reaffirmed their backing for the government’s vision. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Ivorian Enterprises (CGECI), Mehdi Tazi, President of the Africa Committee of the French Business Movement (MEDEF), and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), pledged substantial financial commitments to support the PND 2026-2030 implementation.
